The MRC of Memphremagog is a cluster of 17 municipalities and cities representing a total of 1327 km². The population density is 35.2 h/km². The main feature of the MRC of Memphremagog is a concentration of mountains and lakes. ¹

For the past 40 years, the permanent population of the MRC has been enjoying a steady growth. The outlying municipalities of urban Magog have been advantaged by most of this growth.

From 2001 to 2006, the population of the MRC of Memphremagog has increased to 45 310 from 42 267 residents, a growth of 7.2 %. There are 33 % of the residents aged between 15 and 44. The annual median income is 44 338 $ (2005), and the vast majority of the population is bilingual with French being the mother tongue.²
