New businesses and employment
The MRC of Memphremagog has welcomed 6 new manufacturing businesses throughout the year 2007. Investments relating to these new ventures are totaling $8 199 000 and have generated 137 new jobs in 2007.
In 2007, 14 companies have closed down, leaving a loss of 104 occupations.
In 2007, we show a gain of 111 jobs in the manufacturing sector for the territory of the MRC. There are currently 5 146 jobs in the region.
The MRC experiences a net loss of 331 industrial occupations since 1998. This is a decrease of 6 % over 1998 and an increase of 2.2 % over the preceding year, 2006.
